The days when tenants had to furnish empty apartments themselves are becoming a thing of the past. AFI Group, one of the leading players in the rental housing market, is observing a growing demand for fully furnished apartments across its AFI Home portfolio. In response, the company now offers not only partially furnished units but also apartments that come fully equipped – from towels in the bathroom to tableware on the dining table. In short: for comfortable living that starts the moment you turn the key, tenants only need to bring their personal belongings.
„More and more people today are looking for housing that allows them to move in immediately and without unnecessary stress. While this trend still represents only a small percentage of the market, given our portfolio of nearly 900 apartments, it already constitutes a significant share,” explains Elena Pisotchi, Residential Leasing Manager at AFI, adding: “These tenants don’t want to spend time by shopping of dishes or bed linen. They want a ready-made solution that saves them both time and effort. That’s why, since January this year, we’ve been offering fully equipped apartments upon request — and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We see this as a natural evolution of the market, and we are glad to have captured the trend at its early stage.
The new trend reflects the accelerating pace of modern life. While it used to be standard to move into an empty apartment with bare walls, partially or fully furnished apartments gradually became more popular. Today’s expectations, however, go even further. “Tenants want to be able to move in with just a suitcase of clothes and find everything they need in their new home. They seek a combination of home comfort with hotel-like services. Modern rental housing therefore includes everything from bedding and decorative elements to bathroom accessories. Such housing becomes a true service — one that saves both time and worry,” says Pisotchi.
The concept of fully furnished apartments is now integrated throughout the AFI Home portfolio — from Karlín and Třebešín to Kolbenova. In each residence, tenants can choose from ready-to-move-in apartments featuring complete furnishings, appliances, and carefully designed details that create a genuine sense of home. AFI continues to enhance its properties with a wide range of on-site services, such as the self-service Lavor laundry with large-capacity washers and dryers, a modern coworking center, and a local supermarket at AFI Home Kolbenova. Each residence also provides 24/7 reception, professional maintenance, and property management.
“This type of housing primarily appeals to those seeking flexibility — young professionals, expats, foreigners relocating for work, or people in transitional life stages. They appreciate the ability to move into a fully functional, cozy home close to the city center, without the need to invest in furniture or equipment,” adds Elena Pisotchi, noting that AFI plans to expand the concept in its upcoming projects — including AFI Home Nová Elektra (291 apartments) and AFI Home V Korytech (519 apartments).
