The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided AFI Group with EUR 120 million in financing to support the expansion of its portfolio of premium commercial and residential properties across the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Serbia.
All properties financed through this loan will meet high sustainability standards, fully aligning with the EBRD’s mission to promote the transition to a green economy. AFI Group has committed to developing a comprehensive plan to meet the requirements of the forthcoming EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), further strengthening its long-term strategy focused on environmental protection, social responsibility, and good governance.
„We are delighted to enter into this partnership with the EBRD. The new financing confirms our commitment to sustainable growth while reinforcing our financial stability. This collaboration enables us to further expand our portfolio across Central and South-Eastern Europe, particularly in the office and rental housing sectors,” said Anat Dafna, Chief Financial Officer of AFI Group.
„We are very pleased to support AFI in its continued expansion. This financing underscores our dedication to promoting sustainable development, helping companies adapt to evolving regulatory frameworks, and advancing high environmental standards in the real estate sector. AFI has already established a strong presence in the rental housing market in the Czech Republic and Poland, has introduced this model in Serbia, and now plans to expand it to Romania. The EBRD’s support will enable AFI to significantly grow its portfolio and strengthen its position as a regional leader in this segment,”said Vlaho Kojaković, Head of Real Estate at the EBRD.
AFI is the largest provider of rental housing in the Czech Republic, operating nearly 900 units under its AFI Home brand across four Prague residences. These include AFI Home Kolbenova (640 apartments), AFI Home Karlín (171 apartments), and AFI Home Třebešín (61 apartments) — all achieving full occupancy, confirming the strong demand for high-quality rental housing with comprehensive services in the capital. AFI is currently expanding its portfolio with two new developments: AFI Home Nová Elektra (291 apartments under construction) and AFI Home V Korytech (519 apartments in preparation).
The partnership with the EBRD represents a significant milestone in AFI’s growth, further strengthening its position as a leader in the residential real estate market, not only in the Czech Republic but throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
